If you have been bitten by the typewriter bug,
I recommend joining the electronic mailing lists
and forums devoted to the pleasures of old writing machines. These
lists
discuss anecdotes about typewriters, where to find serial numbers,
machines for sale, you name it. As you'll see, most
typewriter collectors are friendly
and helpful people.
-
TYPEWRITERS is an automated list for typewriter
fans, with over 1800 members. Recently this list has been
generating around 20 messages per day. A daily digest option is also
available (one long message per day).

to post-1940 portable machines.
