The Literacy Autobiography of Lauren Staley

 

 

For my entire life, I have loved to read.  The thrill of delving into an exciting story or learning fascinating facts always entertained me.  I am an 18 year old female from Wilmington, Ohio.  My parents are both physicians specializing in internal medicine, and I have a younger brother named Adam.  I am now a Psychology major enrolled in the Scholars program at Xavier University.  I was raised in the Roman Catholic tradition, and I hope to get married and have children some day.  I have enjoyed a variety of activities throughout my life, including swimming, tennis, and theatre. 

My literacy autobiography is separated into different topics.  I felt that organizing my biography in a timeline format would hinder the reader's understanding of my literacy development because many matters span a number of years, sometimes even my entire life.  I have tried to chunk the topics into general time periods, but this was not possible in every instance.  My literacy autobiography enables the reader to see how different matters influence my literacy over the entire span of my life.
